学校是中国最早建立的以培养职业教育师资为主要任务的普通本科师范院校，被誉为“中国职教师资培养的摇篮”。

Tianjin University of Technology and Education (TUTE) is the first normal university focusing on cultivating teachers for vocational schools in China. It has been honored as the “cradle of vocational teachers in China”.

学校设有教育学、工学、理学、管理学、经济学、文学、艺术学等7个学科门类，工程学学科进入ESI全球排名前1%。全日制本、硕、博在校生1.8万余人。拥有全国高校面积最大、设备最先进的工程实训中心。

There are 7 disciplines including Education, Engineering, Science, Management, Economics, Literature, and Fine Arts. The Engineering discipline has entered the top 1% of ESI Global Rankings. There are over 18,000 full-time students through undergraduate, Master’s, and doctoral students. It owns the largest and most advanced Engineering Training Center over the country.

学校与德国、英国、美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、哈萨克斯坦、日本、埃塞俄比亚等国70余所高校及政府机构签署合作协议。来自30余个国家的国际学生在校攻读本、硕、博专业学位。

TUTE has signed cooperation agreements with over 70 universities and government agencies, such as Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Kazakhstan, Japan, and Ethiopia. International students from over 30 countries are pursuing degrees in undergraduate, Master’s, and doctoral programs. 

学校坐落在天津市城市副中心——柳林风景区，乘地铁或公交车30分钟可达火车站，乘出租车20分钟可达天津滨海机场，从天津乘城际列车30分钟可抵达中国首都北京。

The university is located in the sub-center of Tianjin city- Liulin Scenic Area.It takes 30 minutes by subway or bus to reach the train station, 20 minutes by taxi to Tianjin Binhai Airport, and 30 minutes by intercity train to Beijing.
