Tianjin University of Technology and Education (TUTE), founded in 1979，is one of the first normal universities focusing on cultivating teachers for vocational schools in China. TUTE sticks to the educational philosophy of “Hand and Mind, All-round Development”. It has cultivated high-quality vocational teachers and application-oriented senior professionals. TUTE built first-class education, and won one national special prize for teaching achievements and two first prizes for national teaching achievements. To deepen the reform, innovate the model, form a full-level vocational education teacher training system of bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctoral degree, and cultivate the first batch of "double-qualified" undergraduate, master's degree and doctor's degree in China. TUTE is co-constructed by Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and Tianjin Municipal Government.

The transportation around TUTE is very convenient, with bus stations, subway stations around. It takes 30 minutes from TUTE to Tianjin Railway Station, or Tianjin West Railway Station by subway or bus, and 20 minutes to Tianjin Binhai Airport by taxi. Also, it only takes 30 minutes by intercity between Tianjin and Beijing, the capital of China.

2. Contents of Scholarship

Full scholarship: Tuition and on-campus accommodation are free, living allowance stay in China and comprehensive medical insurance are provided.

3. Qualifications

Application should be non -Chinese citizens, aged between 18 and 35 (until September 1^st. 2025), in good physical and mental health and excellent in learning and academic ability.

4. Criteria & Eligibility

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent with excellent academic record. Applicants for English-taught programs should come from countries where English is the native or official language, or have graduated from English major, or have an English level equivalent to IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 80 or above; Applicants who wish to take Chinese as their language of instruction must have a Chinese language proficiency of 180 or above on the HSK (Level 4), or use Chinese as the language of instruction for Chinese college degree.

5. Admission procedures

（1）Applicants must use a personal computer to log into our website  https://tute.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx, create a new account with an email address, fill in application information and upload required application materials before March 15, 2025.

Application materials sent by E-mail or delivered by post office won’t be accepted. On-site registration won’t be allowed either.

（2）TUTE will organize a panel of experts from relevant departments for interviews. Interview arrangements will be notified separately. Applicants always need to pay attention to their email boxes. After conducting interviews, TUTE will determine the list of recommended candidates and issue a preadmission notice (electronic version sent by email) for the proposed candidates.

(3) Applicants should log in to the "Chinese Government Scholarship Management Information System for Studying in China" before March 20, 2025 after receiving the pre admission notice（https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login）, and complete the information upload and submission as required.

6. Application Documents

- “Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form” (filled in English or Chinese only)

- Photocopy of the passport photo page (valid later than September 2025)

- Highest educational certificate (notarial photocopy): Applicants shall provide proof of highest diploma or prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarial translations in Chinese or English.

- Academic transcripts (notarial photocopy, from the undergraduate program onwards): Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

- Language qualification certificates. Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must submit valid HSK reports in accordance with the corresponding Chinese proficiency requirements. Applicants for English language-taught programs shall provide relevant language proficiency certificates according to the universities’ requirements, like IELTS or TOFEL report;

- Pre-admission documents: The pre-admission materials will be sent to the applicant by email after comprehensive review by TUTE. The applicant may not submit this material for the first time; After receiving the pre-admission materials from TUTE, the applicant should withdraw the application and add this material and submit the application again.

- A study plan proposal. A study plan written in Chinese or English shall contain more than 1,000 characters or words. the proposal of a doctoral student shall be signed by the applicant’s Chinese supervisor;

- Recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors should be submitted in Chinese or English only (please attach your personal signature and contact information). The contents should mainly include the requirements of the applicant's study objectives in China, the cooperation between the Chinese university or the Chinese tutor and the foreign tutor or the inter university exchange, as well as the evaluation of the student's comprehensive ability and future development.

- Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form, completed in English (the original copy shall be kept by the applicant，which could be downloaded from ). The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

- Non-Criminal Record report, The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

- Photocopy of the supporting materials, such as certificates of awards etc.

7. Academic assessment

(1) Applicants should pay attention to the application process, review opinions, and scholarship application results. Timely reply to our school's email and confirm scholarship matters with TUTE.

(2) Applicants who have passed the material review are required to participate in the assessment organized by the applying college. After the applicant is admitted, TUTE will review the applicant's information and materials. If there are any violations or fraudulent activities, once verified, the scholarship qualification will be immediately cancelled;

(3) Applicants who pass the examination of CSC will be eligible for Chinese government scholarships to study in China.

(4) Scholarship recipients are not allowed to change their admission institution, major, or study period after coming to China.

(5) For those who cannot come to China within the admission period, the scholarship eligibility will not be retained.

(6) Scholarship recipients are required to participate in the annual scholarship evaluation according to regulations

(7) Other matters not mentioned herein shall be subject to the requirements of relevant competent authorities.
